Heading Home-The Synopsis
Heading Home is the story of one man’s battle with the spoils of success and his eventual realization that God is in control.  The story spans 20 years and follows the life of Troy Wilson, a very talented and very Christian baseball player, who moves up too quickly and succumbs to the temptations of the “bright lights and big city”.  During the course of his career, while achieving fame and fortune, he turns his back on his family, his friends, his spirituality and ends up squandering the gifts with which he was endowed. And, as the Lord often does, He takes everything away so that Tory will come back to God. After hitting rock bottom, losing his career, the new friends he thought he had, all of his money and possessions, Troy is accepted back home. He even finds work as a hitting coach for the same minor league team from which he came 20 years before. He is specifically hired to develop the raw talent of a 19 year old local boy, who turns out to be Troy’s son….a son he did not know he had. The young man also did not know Troy was his father. Troy also reconciles with his girlfriend of two decades before, the mother of the young man Troy was hired to coach. When the son learns of the deception of his mother and the abandonment of Troy, his biological father, he strikes out, just as his dad did 20 years before. Our Savior Jesus Christ then uses Troy, Sr., to perform a miracle which redeems the father and saves the son from the same path to destruction.
